Dear Jim, I have received your letter dated
September 23rd 2004, together with a copy of the letter to you
from Minister Martin Cullen TD (dated
September 20th 2004) relating to the Connaught Waste
Management Plan problems I have raised in my e-mail at
http://www.finnachta.com/Hotmail15Sept2004/OireachtasMembers.htm.
Thank you very much for acting on my
behalf.
As you may know, I have
also received a letter (dated September 20th 2004) on the
same subject from your Oireachtas colleague Deputy
Bernard J. Durkan TD.
In case there might be any doubt about
it, please note that I very much appreciate both of your
efforts; and, I also hope VERY much that you will both be
able to provide me with ongoing help - should the need arise (as I
suspect it might).
I would like to take this opportunity
to point out to both of you that there is still an
EXTANT WARRANT FOR MY ARREST in existence: in
connection with my efforts during the run-up to the last
General Election (in 2002) to draw public
attention to the matter of alterations to the Waste
Management Acts being in breach of Article 28A of Bunreacht na
hEireann (i.e. the Primary Law of the Republic of
Ireland).
Allowing for the Government Cabinet
reshuffle of yesterday, I assume this whole matter will now be
THOROUGHLY investigated by
Minister Dick Roche TD. Consequently, I
am copying this e-mail to Minister Roche.
With apologies for leaving it so very
late, you may nevertheless wish to know that there is a meeting
tomorrow evening in Wards Ballyfa to discuss
alternatives to superdumps and incinerators.
The several speakers will include Dr Niamh Clune,
and a copy of a recently released Press Release
issued by Dr Clune, which I find interesting and worthy of
consideration, can be seen at Internet location http://www.annmariekelly.org/NiamhClunePressRelease27September2004.htm
Wards Ballyfa incidentally, is located
about 100 yards from the proposed New Inn (Cross)
Superdump site -which was fairly recently
selected for use in the now-to-be-investigated Connaught
Waste Management Plan: the plan which was earlier unanimously
rejected (on TWO separate occasions) by my
democratically elected Local Government
representatives.
Yours sincerely,
William Finnerty. |
